On August 20th marks the One Year Anniversary of my Dissertation Presentation which resulted in my final stage to attaining my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology..
My dissertation (called my Doctoral Project) looked at my research and professional and personal experiences understanding Dissociative Identity Disorder (which can also be used to discuss our ideas of Schizophrenia and other “Psychotic” Disorders) in a broader cultural perspective. One that includes to differentiate out between alters/parts, access and communication in the spirit world (other entities), and those that are truly a psychotic processes. Basically looking at a Triad of possibilites. I would caution and point out that all of these are not always mutually exclusive. In my professional and personal experiences, it has been found that some individuals have experiences with dissociative parts/alters and hearing and seeing those connected to the spirit world. For those interested in reading my dissertation, I can make it available to send to those that want it.
This is also a good lead-in to my next post.
